In addition to leading Goldberg Segalla as chief operating officer, Chris Belter is an accomplished trial attorney who dedicates his practice to resolving complex construction and commercial disputes. Chris has represented a wide range of clients including major manufacturers, construction firms, utilities, transportation companies, Fortune 500 companies, and international businesses in courts and arbitration forums across the country. Over the course of his 30-year career, he has taken well over 100 trials and arbitrations to verdict or award.
As co-chair of the firm’s Construction Litigation and Counsel practice group, Chris is a trusted advocate for many commercial developers, architects and engineers, construction managers, contractors and subcontractors, environmental consultants and others in the construction field. He handles breach of contract, delay and acceleration, design and construction defect, performance and payment bond, and other high-value claims. He has extensive experience with complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution involving major solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects.
Chris co-chairs Goldberg Segalla’s Business and Commercial Litigation group, representing a broad range of companies in complex disputes involving contractual relationships, misappropriation and fraudulent conveyance, commercial leases, licensing, claims of tortious interference, and other issues. He also defends directors and officers in matters involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and bad faith, as well as claims brought by the FDIC and the SEC.
As Goldberg Segalla’s chief operating officer, and a member of the firm’s management committee, Chris is responsible for oversight of all aspects of the firm’s administration, client service, culture, resources, and strategic growth.
