Practice Areas

Deepak, a partner since 2007, is currently head of the Derivatives and Financial Markets group in London. He specialises in OTC derivative and securities financing transactions across the full spectrum of asset classes. He regularly advises both buy-side and sell-side clients, including banks, insurance companies, investment managers, hedge funds, pension funds and corporates on business as usual trading, structured transactions and the related regulatory environment.

Deepak continues to advise the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) on a range of projects. This includes the current upgrade to the ISDA FX definitions, ISDA’s interest rate projects (including the 2020 IBOR Fallbacks Protocol and the 2021 ISDA Interest Rate Derivatives Definitions), the 2022 Verified Carbon Credit Transactions Definitions, the ISDA Sustainability-linked Derivatives Clause Library and the impact of market events such as covid-19 and market closures on the derivatives market.

He is also a board member of CreateiQ, the firm’s in-house tech start up. This is an online negotiation platform for finance documentation. As such he often seeks to combine technology with pure legal work.
