Career
Denise De Mory is the managing partner and co-founder of Bunsow De Mory LLP, a top IP litigation boutique. She has litigated patent and other intellectual property cases for more than 30 years.
Denise is a courtroom star. She has tried 11 cases to verdict. In her most recent trial victory in September 2023, the jury awarded her patent-owning client more than $38 million in damages. It is Denise’s firm understanding of what matters at trial and what it takes to effectively communicate to a judge and to a jury that enables her to develop and pursue successful strategies to achieve her clients’ goals and objectives in intellectual property matters.
Denise’s trial expertise gives her clients a strong advantage in litigation and often leads to significant settlements before trial against law firms more than 50 times the size of Bunsow De Mory. Universities, university professors, small companies, and individual inventors rely on Denise’s strategic acumen to maximize the value of their IP assets.
Over her career, Denise has appeared in more than 150 patent cases in every major jurisdiction in the United States. She has also successfully represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Denise was also a core member of the United States Department of Justice’s trial team in the United States v. Microsoft antitrust litigation. The DOJ hired her from a well-known litigation boutique to add technical and civil litigation expertise to the trial team.
Prestigious legal authorities regularly recognize Denise as a leader among her peers in the legal industry.
