Eduardo Ribeiro served as a member of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District from 1963 to 1966. He taught several subjects, including Constitutional Law, General Theory of Procedure, and Civil Procedure, at the University of Brasília - UnB and at the Centro de Ensino Unificado de Brasília - CEUB.
He began his judicial career in 1966 as a District Judge in the Federal District. In 1980, he was appointed as a Justice of the Court of Justice of the Federal District (Tribunal de Justiça do Distrito Federal – TJDFT), a position held until 1985 when he assumed the role of a Justice of the Federal Appeals Court (Tribunal Federal de Recursos – TFR). With the advent of the Federal Constitution of 1988, he was appointed as a Justice of the Superior Court of Justice (Superior Tribunal de Justiça- STJ), a position he held until 2000.
He also served on the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral – TSE).
He has published numerous articles on Civil Law and Civil Procedure, as well as a book entitled "Comments on the New Civil Code - Articles 79 to 137".
Since retiring, he has primarily worked as a legal consultant, offering expert opinions on legal matters before the superior courts and the Supreme Court.
