Eva is a solicitor specialising in actions against the police and other public bodies, and inquests arising from deaths following contact with the state.

Eva acts for individuals in complaints and claims against the police relating to unlawful arrest, excessive force, discrimination, negligence, malicious prosecution, and breaches of the Human Rights Act. In addition, she acts for individuals in claims against the prison service and assists individuals in challenging the decisions of state bodies via judicial review.

Eva also acts for bereaved families of people who have died after contact with the state to seek to ensure that their voices are heard and that lessons are learned through the inquest and other investigative processes.

Eva is committed to assisting individuals who have suffered abuses of state power to hold the state to account. In addition to her specialism in civil liberties she has an in-depth understanding of the criminal justice system, having previously acted for clients in a criminal defence capacity at police stations and in the magistrates’ court.
