Firas Ibrahim Bakr has been an established figure in the Jordanian legal market since 1991. He is particularly noted for his capabilities in assisting government entities with arbitrations and is a member of the permanent technical committee established by the government for reviewing and interpreting the Unified Contract for Construction Contracts.
Firas sits as an arbitrator, adjudicator, and mediator in commercial and construction arbitrations and acts as advocate and adviser in court and arbitration proceedings concerning major construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects in Jordan.
Firas is the legal counsel for many Jordanian entities, including Ayla Oasis Development Company, Arab Potash Company, Arab Fertilizers & Chemical Industries and Jordan Insurance Company.
He has served as lead counsel on numerous transactions, including significant real estate and tourism development projects; acquisitions of target companies in the mining and waste management industries; negotiation of long-term gas sale agreements for industrial use; and financing construction and development of a high-end hotel in downtown Amman.
Firas has extensive experience in litigation (especially in the fields of construction and engineering disputes), commercial law, foreign investment, international trade and insurance issues.
