Career
Guilherme Potenza is a founding partner of the firm and co-head of its Venture Capital and M&A practices and is one of the most active and prominent venture capital and startup lawyers in Brazil.
Guilherme’s track record includes hundreds of VC rounds, including several ground-breaking deals, such as the USD2.3b sale of Oculus VR to Facebook and the exit of Peixe Urbano to Baidu.
Recognized as one of the most active transactional attorneys in Brazil according to TTR, he also helped many of the most sophisticated institutions in Brazil, including Bradesco/Inovabra, Itaú/Kinea, Positivo, CSN, EDP, among others, to set up their CVC funds.
He worked for Fenwick & West LLP in the Silicon Valley with venture-backed M&A, as well as on VC rounds involving Brazilian and other international companies.
Guilherme holds an LL.M. from Stanford Law School, a postgraduate from INSPER, and an LLB from USP. Guilherme also teaches the VC course at Future Law, and is a professor in the MBA program at FGV, teaching the VC and PE Investments course.

He is also Co-Chair of the Stanford Law School Brazilian Chapter.
