Harold K. Watson focuses his practice on a wide variety of marine and energy insurance law. His experience includes handling matters related to marine and energy insurance claims across the nation and around the world. He has counseled and litigated traditional maritime issues for nearly four decades and is recognized as one of the worlds leading authority on the removal of wreck claims. He has handled significant claims involving builders’ risk, hull damage, protection and indemnity, general average, general and excess liability, control-of-well, and other energy insurance claims. He has litigated traditional maritime issues arising out of contract breaches, maritime collisions and casualties, cargo damage, insurance coverage issues, General Average declarations, and Jones Act regulations. Hal has authored many articles and speaks extensively on timely issues regarding the maritime industry. He is a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel and past president of the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He received his L.L.M. from Yale University Law School.
