Heather is a highly sought after junior with 15 years’ experience across the fields of administrative and public law, human rights, regulatory law, professional discipline, information law and data protection. She is regularly instructed in ground-breaking and complex public law litigation and has particular expertise in judicial review claims. Recent public law cases include a number of high profile judicial review claims challenging the Government’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic, challenges to public authority consultation exercises and cases concerning the retention of criminal record data. Heather also regularly advises and acts in regulatory and disciplinary proceedings on behalf of a wide range of regulatory bodies and regulated individuals and firms, in particular in the legal and health contexts, and has acted in a number of the leading cases in this sphere. She is frequently instructed in complex disciplinary investigations, disciplinary tribunal proceedings and appeals to the High Court. Heather is also a recognised expert in the field of information and data protection law and advises and litigates on behalf of a range of private and public sector clients on FOIA, GDPR, and DPA issues including data breach litigation, cases in the ECtHR on data retention and litigation in the High Court.
