Igor is the partner in the Energy & Natural Resources team in Poland. He has over 30 years' professional experience advising on major and frequently pioneering transactions and projects in conventional and renewable energy, including off-shore wind projects.
Igor is one of the most experienced energy sector lawyers in Poland. He has advised domestic and international clients active in electricity, natural gas, heat supply and mining industries. He worked for the Ministry of Economy between 1993 and 1998 drafting the Energy Law adopted in 1997. Igor has a proven track record of representing clients in the most complex M&A and project finance deals. He frequently represented clients in disputes that became a precedent setting cases including cases before regulatory bodies the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection, the Supreme Court and the European Commission. He is a cofounder and Vice President of the Energy Law Lawyers Association.
Publications
Igor is an author and co-author of several publications including the very first commentary to the Energy Law in 2000 and now the most recent commentary to the Energy Law, the Renewable Energy Act and the very first commentary to the Polish Off-Shore Wind Energy Act of 2020.
