Dispute Resolution
Indranil Deshmukh is a partner in the dispute resolution practice with experience of 20 years. He heads the Disputes Practice and has extensive experience in a wide range of disputes relating to commercial contracts, shareholder disputes, corporate insolvency, construction contracts, media rights contracts, etc, His dispute resolution experience is diversified across various sectors including construction, sports, manufacturing, securities and financial regulation, health, local government, planning and environment and public sector projects.
Experience Profile:
He has been involved in many high profile and precedent setting litigations in domestic as well as cross border disputes.
He has been involved in high value and complex construction arbitrations in the oil and gas and power sectors for major EPC contractors and employers.
He has represented the BCCI in many high value domestic and international arbitrations involving franchise agreements and media rights agreements in relation to the Indian Premier League.
He has acted for foreign banks and financial institutions in many enforcement actions in India arising from a structured transactions involving cross border funding received by Indian companies both in the form of debt and equity.
He has been involved in many cross border and domestic shareholder disputes including those involving oppression and mismanagement and arbitrations across various sectors.
He has acted in various writ petitions and public interest litigations in relation to environment pollution, tenders for public procurement, construction/infrastructure projects etc.
He regularly advises clients both Indian and multi-national in connection with regulatory disputes arising from securities, foreign exchange and development control.
