Ira A. Eddymurthy is a founding partner of SSEK and one of Indonesia’s most experienced and highly regarded lawyers. She has more than three decades of experience advising multinationals and domestic companies on Indonesia’s complex regulatory environment.

Ira has been admitted to the Indonesian National Board of Arbitration (BANI) panel of arbitrators.

Work Highlights

• Advised PT Indosat Tbk on the establishment of a data center joint venture with Indosat subsidiary PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta and BDx Asia Data Center Holdings Pte. Ltd.

• Acted for several creditors in the US$9.8 billion debt restructuring of flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, one of the largest and most complex suspension of debt payment obligation (PKPU) proceedings in Indonesian history.

• Acted for PT Indo Kordsa Tbk, a leader in tire cord technology, in a merger with its subsidiary PT Indo Kordsa Polyester, in a transaction valued at about $41 million, as has been reported.

• Appointed by a group of leading Indonesian state-owned enterprises to assist the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in drafting, negotiating, revising and finalizing three omnibus ministerial regulations to simplify/replace provisions previously contained in 45 separate Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Regulations and regulate the SOE sector in Indonesia.

• Assisted Restaurant Brands Asia Limited, a listed Indian company that operates major F&B brands, as Indonesian counsel in the acquisition of a controlling stake in PT Sari Burger Indonesia, the franchisee of Burger King in Indonesia.

• Advised on the formation of the Indonesian Oil and Gas Holding SOE, a US$ 4 billion deal that resulted in the creation of Indonesia’s largest state-owned holding company.

• Represented Pertamina in negotiations with Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance over a strategic partnership for the development of Indonesia’s petrochemical industry.

• Acted for Pertamina International Shipping in connection with its energy transportation cooperation with a Japanese shipping company.

• Advised Exxon Natuna on regulatory issues pertaining to a multibillion-dollar oil and gas development.

• Acted for Gesit Companies, a diversified Indonesian conglomerate that operates in the property, trading and services, manufacturing and natural resources sectors, in a transaction with MEA Commercial Holdings, a leading Singapore holding company that focuses on real estate investments.

• Advised Malaysian investment holding company RII Holdings Sdn Bhd on its acquisition of a substantial equity interest in leading Indonesian logistics company PT Pandu Siwi Sentosa.

• Assisted a bidder, a multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in Singapore, with its contemplated acquisition of a controlling stake in one of Indonesia’s largest banks by assets.
