Practice Areas
James is a Partner in Trethowans’ Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team, leading the team in the Poole and Bournemouth offices. He specialises in complex and catastrophic cases.
James often acts for clients who have suffered life changing injuries, including brain injuries and severe spinal injuries. He uses his knowledge and experience to ensure that clients get the best possible outcome from their claim. James has obtained successful outcomes in a wide variety of cases involving accidents at work, road traffic accidents, product liability and public liability, often on a “no-win-no-fee” basis.
James also specialises in clinical negligence claims and has considerable experience dealing with claims relating to birth injuries, delays in diagnosis, incorrect / sub-standard treatment and consent. In addition, James has experience in pursuing personal injury claims involving cross border and jurisdictional issues.
Career
James joined Trethowans in 2007, having read Law at Cambridge University and completing his Legal Practice Course in Bournemouth.
Professional Memberships
James is accredited as a Senior Litigator by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. James is also the current President of the Dorset Law Society.
