James is a Partner, a qualified English barrister and Jersey advocate. He has a busy practice acting for professional clients and individuals in a range of contentious trust, private wealth and commercial disputes.
James is the author of the textbook ‘Litigating Trust Disputes in Jersey: Law, Procedure & Remedies’, published by Bloomsbury and the author of the Jersey chapter of ‘Family Asset Protection: A Guide on Divorce, Finance & The Media’.
James advises and represents both beneficiaries and trustees in:
• Breach of trust claims
• Asset tracing/recovery against trusts and trustees;
• Claims for secondary liability against accessories.
• Disputes concerning trust administration,
• Applications to court for directions, variation and rectification of trusts
• Disputes about disclosure;
• The appointment and removal of trustees; and
• Disputes about the exercise of trustee powers.
He advises on jurisdictional disputes and the enforcement of foreign judgments against trustees and beneficiaries.
James also advises on a broad range of contentious and commercial and company law disputes.
