Clients turn to James Taylor for counsel on public and private offerings of retail and wholesale medium term notes, commercial paper, certificates of deposit, warrants, convertible and exchangeable bonds and covered bonds, as well as the establishment and update of structured notes programs, the structuring of liability management transactions and the provision of ongoing advice on securities laws, corporate governance and stock exchange requirements related to them.
James has worked closely with global financial institution and state-owned and privately owned company clients in recent years on innovative sustainable finance transactions, including green, social and sustainability-linked notes, and has considerable experience representing banks on their regulatory capital issues and related liability management transactions in alignment with relevant prudential regulatory frameworks.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, James was seconded to the emerging markets group of a major international bank. In addition to his native English, James is fluent in Russian.
