Jan Cate represents banks and other lending institutions in a wide variety of commercial finance transactions, including acquisition financings, letter of credit transactions, secured and unsecured lending, complex intercreditor negotiations, unitranche facilities, asset based and cash flow lending transactions, financial restructurings and workouts of problem credits.
Jan's work spans many industries and types of businesses, including broadcast, satellite and other communications and media companies, food and other retail products, casinos and gaming, theaters, restaurants, health care facilities, agricultural companies, religious and other nonprofit institutions.
Career
Prior to joining Katten, Jan was a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where she led the firm's Los Angeles Finance Section. She was also a resident in Hong Kong, where she represented a financial institution in a variety of international finance transactions. She is on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Downtown Ketchum YMCA.
