Jean-Nicolas is a key partner in our Brussels competition team, having joined Dentons in March 2019 from Steptoe & Johnson in a move that significantly strengthened the practice. Prior to that, Jean-Nicolas spent 15 years at Linklaters and Freshfields in London and Paris.
He focuses on EU and French competition law, in particular cartel and other antitrust investigations and compliance issues.
Over the last few years, he has represented companies in connection with numerous EU and French Competition Authority cases (flour, consumer electronics, rail maintenance, construction products, dairy products, payment systems, freight forwarding, poultry, veterinary products, bisphenol, construction products) and related litigation and has defended several follow-on litigation cases in French courts.
Jean-Nicolas has also advised clients in relation to over 100 corporate transactions and obtained merger control clearances for their strategic operations from the European Commission and national competition authorities throughout the world.
Throughout his career he has gained significant exposure to the food and beverages, energy, luxury, retail, consumer electronics, agriculture, financial services and private equity sectors.
