Career
Jessica DeBruin is a Principal in Goldberg Kohn’s Commercial Finance Group. She has more than 20 years of experience representing banks and other commercial lenders in documenting, negotiating and performing due diligence for asset-based and cash flow loans. She frequently handles transactions with split-lien or multi-lien structures.
In addition, Jessica regularly works on cross-border lending transactions involving collateral in and currencies of North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Jessica has worked on a wide range of credit facilities, private placement note offerings, securitizations and leveraged leases on behalf of borrowers, issuers, lenders, equity investors, lessees and lessors. She also has extensive experience handling workout matters and bankruptcy related financings, including debtor-in-possession financings and exit loan facilities. She has represented lenders in transactions involving the manufacturing, service, energy and agricultural sectors, among others.
Since 2021, Jessica has been recognized annually as a Leading Lawyer in Banking & Financial Institutions Law, Corporate Finance and Secured Transactions Law by Illinois Leading Lawyers.
Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn in April 2005, she was an Associate at Skadden Arps. Within the firm, she serves as a Member of the the firm's Finance, Compensation and Professional Responsibility committees.
