Career

Attorney Ma joined Dacheng in 1995 and has been a partner for 20 years during his career. From April 2019 to January 2021, as the Director of the Dacheng China Management Committee (CEO), he has not only successfully completed the "ten-year strategy" for Dacheng, but also travelled between places for over 200 hours to led the negotiation of the merger between “Dacheng大成” and Dentons, assisting the firm in achieving a leap forward in the Chinese legal profession. Since 2008, he has served successively as the deputy director of Management Committee, the director of the Supervisory Committee and the member of the Global Board in Dentons, becoming an outstanding leader who has witnessed the development of Dacheng Law Firm.

Work Highlights

In a case of contract disputes concerning the Datang Baoding Co-Generation Power Plant, despite adverse rulings from two levels of courts, attorney MA secured a retrial at the Supreme Court for the Client. With the professional legal representation of attorney MA, the Supreme Court overturned the lower courts' decisions due to identified errors in legal application, ultimately ruling fully in favor of the Client.

Representing the Export-Import Bank of China in a series of financial loan and guarantee contract disputes with a certain Hunan photovoltaic enterprise, attorney MA’s team actively promoted the debt settlement work, helping the Client achieve a return of more than CNY 75 million in a short period of time. The case successfully recovered substantial losses of state-owned assets.;

Representing a client at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) in handling an international arbitration dispute related to the construction of an international airport project, with a subject matter amounting to 1.3 billion Hong Kong dollars.
