Personal

Jo joined Russells in 2006 as a trainee solicitor and qualified into the firm’s Commercial Department two years later. In 2013, Jo gained partnership and now runs the firm’s New Artist Department. Whilst Jo works on a range of music-related matters (e.g. recording, publishing, merchandise, branding and management agreements) his primary expertise lies in advising emerging talent. With a range of contacts in different areas of the entertainment industry, Jo is equipped to offer practical and strategic guidance to individuals just starting out in the business. He is immensely proud to have been through this process from “day one” with clients who have gone on to win coveted Mercury, Brit, Grammy and Ivor Novello Awards in recognition of their talent.
