Joanna holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Mackenzie University, obtained in 2004, and a postgraduate degree in financial and capital markets taxation from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (GV Law).

She has been ranked multiple times as Band 2 by the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth 2024 guide, which profiles the top professionals in Wealth Planning globally. The publication highlights Joanna's expertise in the tax field and recognises her as one of the leading professionals in wealth planning in Brazil.

Joanna was a member of the tax advisory team at a major investment bank. She also served as a foreign associate at a law firm in New York and as a tax consultant for a prominent investment bank.

She was a Professor of Tax Law at the postgraduate programme at GV Law.

Currently, Joanna leads the Tax and Succession Wealth Planning practice at her firm, advising on tax consultancy for individuals—both national and foreign—and multijurisdictional families, covering local and offshore wealth planning, succession, and pre-immigration planning.
