With over 30 years of in-house and private practice experience, John forms close working relationships with clients, employing an efficient and collegial manner while earning a reputation for providing practical solutions to complex challenges.

With clear strengths in auto lending and debt collection based on more than two decades in those fields, his practice features a strong background in all aspects of consumer financial services. He regularly advises auto finance companies, banks, marketplace lenders and other technology companies, and debt purchasers and collectors in investigations by the CFPB, FTC, DOJ, state attorneys general, and other state and federal agencies. He is frequently at the forefront of industry-leading and standard-setting settlements. He also regularly advises on regulatory and compliance matters involving the Dodd–Frank Act, fair lending, and other state and federal laws.
