Jonathan M. Fecteau is your ally for all your municipal law needs.
Jonathan is the head of the Municipal Law team. His practice focuses on expropriation, property assessment and municipal regulations (zoning, subdivision, construction, nuisance, and urban planning). In expropriation and property assessment matters, he exclusively represents individuals and businesses claiming fair compensation for expropriation damages or seeking a fair assessment for the property they own or occupy. He also oversees the execution of mandates contesting the legality of regulations and ultra vires actions taken by municipal authorities and seeks damages and appropriate remedies in cases of disguised expropriation and legitimate expectations (estoppel).
Within the framework of the Act respecting land use planning and development and other municipal regulations, Jonathan assists real estate promoters, developers and builders in all essential phases of their projects, including property acquisition and protocol agreement negotiation with public authorities. He also helps them obtain authorizations from the Ministère de l’Environnement, the Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec and local and regional municipalities. Jonathan appears regularly before the courts and administrative tribunals of Canada, and his skill as a negotiator is lauded by his peers.
