Jose F. Sanchez has over 14 years of international experience handling an array of arbitration and cross-border litigation matters in English, Spanish, and Portuguese under the laws of numerous jurisdictions across the globe. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Jose has served as arbitrator in several cases handled by the ICC and other institutions, and he represents states, state-controlled entities, companies, and individuals in international arbitrations handled by the ICC, ICSID, ICDR, UNCITRAL, and the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce. He is often retained to provide expert case assessment and advice on international arbitration matters to an array of clients, including oil and energy companies, Fortune 500 companies, and state-owned entities.
Jose also handles cross-border litigation matters before state and federal district and appellate courts, with particular emphasis on all issues surrounding the enforcement of arbitration and forum selection clauses, choice of law clauses, foreign judgments, and arbitration awards in the Second and Fifth Circuits. He is also involved in a number of pro-bono litigation matters.
