Practice Areas
Joshua Krane is a leader of the Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment and the Advertising & Marketing groups at McMillan. He advises companies in the agricultural, aviation, consumer products, energy, forest products, fashion, technology and telecommunications industries, collaborating with clients’ legal and executive teams to address complex business issues. Josh has been at the forefront of merger cases having been involved in many of the highest profile and most complex Canadian transactions over the last decade, including only the third completed airline merger in Canada since 2000. Companies call on Josh for his practical guidance on pricing, contracting practices and joint ventures. Josh frequently represents clients in disputes before the courts, the Competition Bureau of Canada, Transport Canada, Ad Standards Canada and the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). He successfully resolved a high-profile dispute with the Bureau in a digital marketing case, including, as a first, obtaining the Bureau’s agreement not to extend the remedy to websites outside of Canada. As one of Canada’s more prominent thought leaders on competition law, Josh’s articles appear routinely in the business section of Canada’s most circulated publications.
