Julie Braman Kane brings three decades of successful experience representing plaintiffs in high stakes personal injury, commercial, and class action litigation in state and federal courts. Trained by Bill and Dean Colson, Bill Hicks and Mike Eidson, and having practiced exclusively at the boutique firm for well over 30 years, Ms. Kane’s loyalty is mirrored in her consistent commitment to her clients and the community. She prides herself both on her personal client relationships and strong community connections based on years of service and dedication to seeking and ensuring access to justice. Ms. Kane believes strongly that creativity, professionalism and a solutions-based attitude combined with the exceptional strength and flexibility of the lawyers and support team of the firm give her clients and cases the best possible results.
With a very diverse litigation practice, she has served as lead counsel in complex medical negligence cases, personal injury cases, wrongful death cases, and product liability cases. Ms. Kane also serves as class counsel and in leadership in consolidated state and federal cases including the Monat Hair Products Multidistrict Litigation (MDL), the Mednax Data Breach MDL, the Allergan Biocel Breast Implants MDL, and the Lakeview Loan Servicing Data Breach Litigation.
Ms. Kane is privileged to have been recognized by prominent legal organizations with a Lifetime Achievement Award, Distinguished Service Awards, professionalism awards, and leadership awards. She has been recognized as a Top Twenty Women in Law award recipient, as a Trailblazer, as a Top 100 Trial Lawyers, as Best Lawyers in America in medical malpractice, commercial injury, and products liability. She has Band 2 recognition from the well-regarded Chambers USA Guide, which reports that “Julie is one of the preeminent class action litigators in the plaintiff space.”
She is a passionate advocate for protecting the right to vote and served as a founder and chair of the Voter Protection Action Committee, which places trial lawyers across the country to ensure that Americans’ access to the polls is not limited. She also holds leadership positions in various legal organizations, including as President of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group, and past service as President of the American Association for Justice, Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the University of Miami Law Alumni Association and as a Trustee and Co-Chair of the National College of Advocates. Ms. Kane’s extensive involvement in legal associations showcases her dedication to advancing justice and protecting the rights of individuals.
Ms. Kane lectures frequently about trial skills nationwide, and along with dozens of lecture-related papers, she authored the “Direct Examination” chapter from the well-regarded text Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit.
