Jurjen Lemstra co-founded the Amsterdam dispute resolution firm Lemstra Van der Korst in 2010.
He specializes in advising on and litigating corporate disputes and has vast experience representing clients in proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal as well as in public tender cases.
Jurjen co-heads the firm’s class action practice together with Flip Wijers and advises on collective settlements (WCAM) and proceedings regarding collective action claims (WAMCA). His expertise has contributed to the success of LVdK as one of the leading Dutch firms in the field of collective actions.
As an expert in financial law cases, he focuses on the liability of the providers of financial products, the duty of care of financial institutions and the positions of financial supervisors. He also advises shareholders and both executive and non-executive board members in cases of corporate governance and personal liability risks in and outside insolvency situations.
Jurjen regularly publishes in his field and is an editor of the ‘Tijdschrift Voor De Ondernemingsrechtpraktijk’ (Journal of Corporate Law Practice). He is a member of the Association of Corporate Litigation (‘Vereniging Corporate Litigation’).
Before co-founding LVdK he was a partner at Pels Rijcken where he headed the corporate law practice group for six years.
In addition to collective actions, the firm has become well known for representing clients in liability disputes. The firm provides further experience in investment litigation, commercial and shareholder disputes, environmental cases and litigation concerning technology and data privacy cases.
