Practice Areas

Keiji’s practice focuses on M&A, IP/IT-related transactions, and data security/privacy matters. He has extensive experience representing global and local clients on complex business transactions as well as regulatory matters, with a particular focus on the TMT sectors, including new business fields such as AI, Metaverse, MaaS, Fintech, Blockchain, Crypto and NFT. He is a country author of The Legal 500: Technology Comparative Guide – Japan (2nd through current 5th editions). He has been active in the policy-making processes. For instance, he has served as a member of:

“Web3 Project Team” established in the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan from 2022;

“Web3.0 Study Group” established in the Digital Agency of Japan in 2022; and

“Project Team on Innovation and Implementation of AI” established in the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan from 2023.
