Practice Areas
Kirk Harris’s practice focuses on business and intellectual property litigation. He has litigated a range of cases involving patents, trademarks, trade dress, trade secrets, and copyrights as well as general business litigation involving breach of contracts, unfair business practices, tortious interference with business relationships, and other corporate disputes. His experience encompasses a spectrum of technologies, including fitness and recreational equipment, smart home, computer software and hardware, medical devices, sporting goods, automotive, solar energy, blow-molding, and satellite transmission and communication.
Mr. Harris also has widespread experience representing clients in a variety of situations, such as arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and contract and licensing negotiations. Mr. Harris has been involved in several trials in both state and federal courts and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Utah and has been admitted to practice before many federal district courts. Mr. Harris has also represented clients before the international trade commission (ITC) and in international arbitration.
Prior to law school, Mr. Harris worked as a metallurgical engineer for one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in the United States. During law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Idaho Law Review.
