His practice includes advising & representing trustees, debtors, directors and creditors on complex insolvency and restructuring issues including debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, loan workouts, bankruptcies, and receiverships. Lance is frequently involved in proceedings, both domestic and cross-border, pursuant to the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, and has particular experience regarding restructurings involving mining, cannabis, forestry, retail, real estate, technology, and agriculture where he has been counsel on a number of precedent-setting cases, and to which he brings a practical, creative and nuanced approach.
Lance is a member of several invitation-only groups of leading insolvency practitioners, including the International Insolvency Institute and the Insolvency Institute of Canada. Lance also provides advice in commercial finance, advising borrowers, private lenders, financial institutions, mezzanine lenders and distressed lenders on distressed and debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing.
