Career

Lasha Nodia is a founding Managing Partner of Nodia, Urumashvili & Partners LLC. His key practice area includes: corporate matters with a focus on M&A, insolvency and restructuring, banking law, real estate transactions, and tax law.

Prior to establishing the law firm, Lasha was the Head of Legal department of JSC Bank Republic. He has also served as a member of the auditing committee of the Georgian Young Lawyers Association and in the same period he was giving lectures to a group of young lawyers in Commercial Law. Lasha is one of the authors of legislative amendments to the arbitration law of Georgia, that entered into force in 2015. Furthermore, Lasha has been actively engaged in the drafting and enactment of the Commercial Mediation Law of Georgia. He was a member of a group working on the Law of Georgia on insolvency proceedings. Since 2021, he has been authorized as an Insolvency Practitioner, at the same time he is a member of the board of the Association of Insolvency Practitioners.

Lasha Nodia has an extensive experience in ADR. Since 2012, he is the Accredited Mediator of Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), and since 2013 he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). In addition, Lasha has successfully completed ICC advanced arbitration academy courses. Moreover, Lasha was a first Chairman and cofounder of Georgian Arbitrators Association (GAA). After stepping down from the position of Chairman, since 2017 he is the deputy chairman of GAA.

He is a member of the Georgian Court Mediators' list and is authorized to Mediate disputes. Moreover, he is an arbitrator of the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) and Georgian International Arbitration Centre (GIAC). He has served both, as co-arbitrator and Chairman of the arbitral tribunal in more than 50 disputes.
