Practice Areas
Liam specialises exclusively in family law and maintains a busy and diverse practice which includes both children and financial remedy work.
In his private children practice, Liam acts for parents and children in private law proceedings and is regularly instructed in cases which include allegations of domestic abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour and sexual assault. He is regularly instructed in matters involving disputes as to schooling, overseas travel, immunisations, and relocation both home and abroad. Liam has appeared in the High Court in matters of international abduction, both Hague and Non-Hague Convention abductions, and matters involving medical treatment.
In public children law, Liam has appeared in several reported High Court cases in respect of Deprivation of Liberty Orders and in the Court of Appeal in respect of the removal of a child from a learning-disabled mother.
Liam maintains a busy financial remedy practice and represents parties and intervenors in proceedings from initial advice at the contemplation of proceedings through to contested final hearings and appeals. He has a particular interest in matters involving third party claims against property, and trusts. Liam is an Affiliate of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners.
Career
Liam was shortlisted for Family Law Young Barrister of the Year in 2021, and Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year in 2022.
