Louisa focuses on Technology, Media, Privacy, and Cyber claims. She is frequently instructed on significant, high-profile claims. TW's cyber practice includes third-party claims including regulatory proceedings and class actions and first-party incidents involving business interruption, data loss, ransomware, and malware. Louisa has particular expertise in Adtechclaims including class actions based on use of pixels, SDKs, and session replay technology. She regularly advises on digital and social media claims including on harms to children and youth. She has expertise in AI matters and intellectual property claims including trademark, trade dress, copyright, and patent and is a patent attorney registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Career

She began her legal career at insurance powerhouse Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft (now Duane Morris) before moving to Paul Hastings’ intellectual property litigation group where she worked on significant and cross border IP disputes. She returned to insurance joining Clyde & Co working on Technology, Media, and Cyber claims handling high profile technology claims and some of the earliest wrongful collection cyber claims. In 2020, Louisa and Ray formed TittmannWeix and built a team of outstanding claims professionals by fostering and advancing professional development, encouraging the questioning of the status quo, harnessing technology, and embracing innovation.

Professional Memberships

Louisa is a member of Internation Cyber Women’s Alliance, PLUS, International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Executive Committee Insurance Section of the SF Bar Association. She is the host of the Technology Insurance Leaders podcast and hosts monthly Tech Insurance meetups in New York and other cities.

Significant Legal Decisions: Media Tech v. Upper Deck, 2008 WL 6023808 (C.D.Cal. 2008); affirmed 596 F.3d 1334 (Fed. Cir. 2010) (finding asserted patent claims invalid). BP Chemicals Ltd. v. Jiangsu Sopo Corp., 429 F. Supp. 2d 1179, 1189 (E.D. Mo. 2006) (Paris Convention did not create a cause of action for misappropriation of trade secrets under the Lanham Act). Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. v. Semiconductor Mfg. Int'l Corp., 2004 WL 5212448, (N.D. Cal. Apr. 21, 2004) (Paris Convention did not create substantive trade secret misappropriation rights that can be enforced through an action under § 44 of the Lanham Act).

Personal

Louisa competed on the United States Rugby Team from 1993-1996 and in the 1995 World Cup. She played on National Championship Teams in 1992-1994 and 1996 and for the Richmond Rugby Club in London in 1995. She has many fond memories of the Sun.
