Lucía joined Galicia in 2008 and has been part of the Environmental practice since 2010.
She has participated in the development of several infrastructure and energy projects, mainly related to renewal energies and natural gas pipelines in connection with environmental matters. She has also participated in several mergers and acquisitions and project finance transactions.
Lucía has more than ten years of experience negotiating and contracting land, as well as securing the right of way in connection with privately owned properties, national and agrarian lands (ejido and communal), associated with the development or financing of infrastructure, energy, mining, tourism and agro-industrial projects, as well as for the development of carbon forest and blue, and sustainable agriculture projects.
She worked as foreign associate in Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Houston, Texas (2016-2017).
Lucía is a member of Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, Colegio de Abogados, A.C., and was the coordinator for their Environmental Law Committee (2019-2021). She is currently Year in Review Vice Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources’ Committee (ABA SEER) International Environmental and Resources Law.
She studied law at Universidad Panamericana (2011). She has a master’s degree in Energy and Environment from Tulane University School of Law (2015), a diploma in Carbon Markets by the Carbon Trust, ANiQ and MexiCO2 (2022), and a course on Forest Carbon Projects by ANiQ, MexiCO2, CAR, Verra, Dogwood Springs Forestry, together with WRI México (2022).
