Work Highlights
Lucy Greenwood has built an exceptional career as an arbitrator, handling a wide range of high-profile and complex international disputes. Her work is particularly notable in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and natural resources. Greenwood has arbitrated several multi-billion-dollar disputes involving major oil and gas projects, including contractual and joint venture conflicts across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Her experience extends to arbitrations under the ICSID Convention, where she has been involved in investor-state disputes concerning claims of expropriation, breach of treaty protections, and regulatory changes in the energy and mining sectors.
Greenwood has also arbitrated large-scale infrastructure disputes, particularly those related to construction and engineering contracts, including extremely high-value commercial construction disputes. Her ability to navigate complex technical matters and provide clear, concise rulings has earned her recognition for delivering decisions and managing arbitrations in a timely and efficient manner.
In addition to her work on disputes, she has been a strong advocate for diversity and sustainability in arbitration. Her leadership in launching the "Green Pledge" has set a precedent for promoting environmental responsibility in the practice of arbitration. This, along with her arbitration experience in key industries, highlights her role as a thought leader and trusted figure in the global arbitration community.
