Lyndsey has a particular interest in adult-acquired brain injury claims, birth injury claims, spinal and complex orthopaedic injuries and sepsis claims. She has also worked on several maternal and gynaecological injuries cases involving vaginal mesh complications and bladder injuries, including a £1.4 million settlement for a psychiatric injury claim following negligent management of a post-partum haemorrhage.
Lyndsey recently settled an acquired brain injury claim on behalf of the estate of a tetraplegic adolescent who suffered a hypoxic brain injury following disconnection of her ventilator whilst in transit to school with a carer. The claim involved complex quantum issues and ultimately settled with liability admitted in full for £450,000.
She settled a fatal acquired brain injury claim arising from multiple failures to treat extensive bilateral pulmonary emboli in a 44-year-old female resulting in cardiac arrest. The patient was resuscitated but as a result sustained a severe hypoxic brain injury requiring 24-hour care. She passed away a year after sustaining the injury. Liability was disputed however a substantial settlement was agreed pre-action.
Lyndsey has also settled a claim on behalf of a young adult who suffered a parenchymal insult arising from a chronic partial hypoxic ischaemic brain injury sustained at birth. The claimant developed epilepsy and a reduction in his cognitive abilities.
She is currently instructed to act for a claimant on an alleged delayed diagnosis of an extensive spinal epidural abscess resulting in cauda equina symptoms and has been responsible for obtaining and co-ordinating the expert evidence of eight experts. She is experienced in pursuing and handling complex multi-defendant claims and managing extensive expert evidence.
Lyndsey also has an interest in AI and sports law, having previously acted for high-performance athletes. She has now gained extensive experience in calculating police loss of earnings and pension losses.
In addition to speaking at events and writing articles, Lyndsey is actively involved in creating podcast series.
Career
Lyndsey qualified in September 2017, having joined Penningtons Manches Cooper as a trainee in 2016. She now has an extensive and varied caseload of her own and became a senior associate in April 2024.
