Dr. Abdou is an esteemed academic lecturer at the Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies, where he teaches Commercial and Arbitration Law. Furthermore, Dr. Abdou worked at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he was responsible for international economic co-operation affairs.

Dr. Abdou has also been involved in many different committees responsible for developing the Libyan legal system, serving as the Chairman of the Libyan Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, which is affiliated with the Union of Chambers of Commerce Industry and Agriculture in Libya. Dr. Abdou’s expertise is exemplified by his role in drafting the Arbitration Law No. 10 of 2023, headed by Dr. Abdou.

Dr. Abdou spends most of his time coordinating advice on a multi-jurisdictional basis for companies with multinational operations. He also advises start-ups and newly established Foreign Investment Enterprises (FIEs) on matters including M&A and restructuring. Moreover, Dr. Abdou has acted on behalf of many international law firms locally, as well as representing some of the largest multinational companies. Additionally, he has provided numerous expert reports to courts in the UK, USA and Germany.
