Martín Godino

Career

Martin Godino has been a member of the Madrid Lawyer Association since 1986. He is currently Managing Partner of Sagardoy Abogados.

His academic training began at the Law School of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid where he graduated in Law. Later, he obtained a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Alcalá de Henares. He completed his studies with a Master’s Degree in Labor Law and Social Security and a Diploma in Litigation Practice at the School of Legal Practice of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

He has teaching experience, currently teaching Labor Law in the Master of Access to the Legal Profession of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, in the Master of Access to the Legal Profession of the Universidad CEU San Pablo and in the Master of Labor Relations of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He regularly participates as a speaker in the training programs of the Sagardoy Business&Law School, and he is also the director of the Advanced Executive Master in Labor Relations. He is a regular author of publications on labor and social security matters.

For twelve consecutive years and also in 2024, he has been recognized by the prestigious publication Chambers & Partners as ‘Star Individual’, in the category of Labor Law, and likewise has recognitions, also repeated in recent years, by Best Lawyers and Legal 500, the most recent in 2021, as one of the best specialist lawyers in the field of labor and employment advice. In particular, in 2017 he was named as one of the 30 best lawyers in the world by Euromoney magazine and was also awarded the Client Choice Award, in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020, a distinction awarded based on the opinions expressed by both Spanish and multinational companies with a relevant presence in the market.

Martin is also a Corresponding Academician of the Royal Spanish Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation and has been decorated in 2021 with the Distinguished Cross of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort.
