Matthew P. Previn is a partner in the Consumer Financial Services and Litigation practices at Paul Hastings. With over two decades of experience, he represents leading financial institutions in regulatory examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions brought by government agencies. He counsels on bank and consumer finance issues, and advises boards and executive management on regulatory expectations, new products and services, and corporate governance.

Mr. Previn represents national and state banks, mortgage originators and servicers, credit card issuers, fintech companies, and other financial product providers in matters initiated by the CFPB, OCC, FDIC, DOJ, FTC, and HUD. He also represents clients in matters before state attorneys general and state banking regulators, including the New York Dept. of Financial Services and the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, as well as multi-state groups.

Mr. Previn has also defended dozens of class actions in state and federal courts nationwide. He litigated cases arising under the Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and unfair and deceptive trade practices statutes.
