Matthew Okin founded the boutique law firm of Okin Adams in 2007. He is the firm's Managing Partner and the head of its Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group.

Matt's practice focuses on corporate reorganizations and bankruptcies, purchases and sales of assets in bankruptcy and commercial litigation, including particularly bankruptcy court litigation. He has represented corporate debtors and creditors, official and ad hoc committees, and trustees in some of the most complex and challenging bankruptcy cases in Texas and throughout the country. Matt's practice has involved work in numerous different industries and locations, including health care, retail, professional services and manufacturing. Because he has practiced his entire career in Houston, Matt has developed a particular expertise in handling the restructuring of businesses focused around the energy industry, including exploration and production, midstream operations, oilfield services, chemicals and retail electricity providers, among many others. He also represents numerous clients in complex out-of-court restructurings, general civil litigation in federal courts and bankruptcy appeals.
