She successfully represents energy, manufacturing and construction companies in claims relating to alleged environmental contamination, permit appeals (first- and third-party), and compliance orders.

Megan has experience with high-profile, environmental fights attempting to derail or declare illegal energy development projects. She has litigated environmental claims in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies and boards.

Megan advises clients on regulatory matters, helping them get permits, developing, updating and following environmental compliance plans.

She handles audit agreements with the U.S. EPA and subsequent disclosures, as well as negotiating consent orders and civil penalties. Her positive working relationship with regulators has important benefits.

She also handles oil and gas commercial litigation, including lease termination and royalty claims, gas gathering agreement disputes, contractor claims, surface access disputes, joint operating agreement disputes, and joint interest billing/accounting disputes.

She is a leading member of the firm’s ESG practice and advises clients on carbon and climate-related regulations and legislation, as well as factoring ESG factors into energy transactions.
