Dr. Mohamed Shehata is a partner at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy and heads the Litigation department at the Dispute & Resolution practice group. He is an assistant professor and vice president of the Centre for Criminal Research at Cairo University, Faculty of Law. Formerly a member of Egypt’s Connseil d’Etat and Public Prosecution and served as a member of the Technical Bureau of the Egyptian Supreme Committee for Legislative Reform. With over 18 years specializing in the telecommunications sector and representing clients in other sectors such as: Etisalat Misr, Pfizer, Zoetis, Novartis, Eli Lilly, Danone Nutricia, Nestle, Egyptian Resorts Company, and the Suez Steel Company. Dr. Shehata handled major commercial disputes before Egyptian courts, arbitral tribunals and regulatory bodies including arbitral disputes before ICC and CRCICA.
Mohamed’s practice is to effectively manage risk and resolve disputes pursuant to his clients’ strategic interests that involve: both plaintiff and defense work, with an industry focus on telecommunication, finance, energy, construction, employment, intellectual property, insurance, real estate, environment, commercial agency, investment and corporate disputes
