Nadiya is a partner in the Brussels office of Jones Day and heading the Firm’s international trade practice in Brussels. An expert in EU and International trade law, she has been advising clients on trade matters out of Brussels, Washington D.C. and Geneva. In her practice, Nadiya draws on more than 25 years of experience in leading international law firms and in the WTO secretariat.
Due to her diverse background and experience, Nadiya established herself as a leading authority on the WTO Agreements and dispute resolution, EU regulatory, ESG, EU Taxonomy, CSRD and CSDDD instruments and trade matters. She successfully represents businesses in trade remedy matters in the EU and beyond.
Nadiya advises global leaders in the transportation and logistics industry, steel, telecoms, pharmaceutical and chemicals industry, in energy, sports, IT and financial sectors on the applicability of and compliance with the EU laws.
Having extensive transactional experience, she counsels clients on the practical implications of EU and UN sanctions, blocking statutes and export controls on transactions relating to Cuba, Libya, Syria, Russia and North Korea, among others. She advises on transactions involving digital currencies, SaaS, cloud computing services and assists clients in designing their corporate, trade and GDPR-related compliance policies.
