Chancery and commercial, with a particular focus on civil fraud, company, joint venture and other business disputes, domestic and offshore trusts, professional negligence and financial services. Paul is frequently instructed as a leader, as sole counsel or as a senior junior and has a strong record of success at High Court and appellate level. Paul has experience in several offshore and foreign jurisdictions, particularly Bermuda, Jersey and New Zealand.

Recent significant cases include Harrington & Charles Trading Co Ltd v Mehta [2022] EWHC 1810 (Ch), [2023] EWHC 307 (Ch) (fraud, shadow directors, freezing injunctions, jurisdiction), Richards v Kulcyzk [2022] EWHC 863 (Ch) (contract, unjust enrichment, service out), K v F (fraud, breach of trust, negligent misstatement), Re X and Y Trusts (Benjamin orders), Kea v Watson [2020] EWHC 472 (Ch) (proprietary injunctions), Watson v Kea [2019] 4 WLR 145 (CA) (interest as a proxy for investment returns), Kea v Ivory Castle [2019] EWHC 309 (Ch) (notification injunctions), Glenn v Watson [2018] EWHC 2016 (Ch) (fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, bribery); Re the X Trusts [2018] SC (Bda) 56 Civ (removal of trustees); C v K (deceit, breach of fiduciary duty and interim injunction arising out of JV buyout).
