Career

Paul specialises in complex and high value clinical negligence claims on behalf of injured patients. He is well known, nationally, for his empathy for his clients combined with a keen eye for detail. He is recognised as a "Leader in his field" by Chambers UK, is a member of the Law Society’s national Clinical Negligence Panel and praised by Legal 500 UK.

Paul is described in the Legal 500 as “quite simply the best clinical negligence practitioner in the business. He has an intellectually formidable brain. His determination to get to the right result is irresistible. Not surprisingly, his clients love him” . According to Chambers & Partners interviewees, Paul also has “tenacious attention to detail, his relationship with clients is great and he is respected by the other side. I was enormously impressed, there is nothing he doesn’t know“, “He is absolutely stupendous and at the top of his game.”, and “His attention to detail is legendary. He’s an extremely impressive advocate for his clients”.

Paul’s experience informed his extensive contribution to legal aid reforms. Working with both houses of Parliament, Paul received nationwide recognition for his efforts and success in retaining legal aid for severely disabled children injured at birth. He continues to contribute to the development of medical law as Chairman of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL). He is regularly approached for comment on local and national radio, television, and national newspapers, and has written several specialist articles on the subject of legal aid reform.

Paul specialises in:

- Cerebral palsy

- Erb’s palsy
