Paul specialises in complex and high value clinical negligence claims on behalf of injured patients. He is well known, nationally, for his empathy for his clients combined with a keen eye for detail. He is recognised as a "Leader in his field" by Chambers UK, is a member of the Law Society’s national Clinical Negligence Panel and praised by Legal 500 UK.

Paul’s experience informed his extensive contribution to legal aid reforms. Working with both houses of Parliament, Paul received nationwide recognition for his efforts and success in retaining legal aid for severely disabled children injured at birth. He continues to contribute to the development of medical law as Chairman of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL). He is regularly approached for comment on local and national radio, television, and national newspapers, and has written several specialist articles on the subject of legal aid reform.
