Due to Peter’s extensive expertise in shipping and maritime matters, he regularly advises large shipping companies on dispute resolution (including charterparty and bill of lading disputes, shipbuilding/repair, collisions, arrest and enforcement of maritime claims), marine insurance and international trade. For non-contentious matters, clients look to Peter for drafting in relation to joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, construction, repair, conversion, sale & purchase and chartering/operations/management of ships and onshore/offshore drilling platforms, ship finance and registration.

With 25 years of experience, Peter is recognised as a leading advocate in the Asia Pacific region. He regularly acts as counsel in complex commercial litigation matters and in international arbitration. For contentious matters, he focuses on the areas of Maritime and Shipping, International Trade, Commodities, Restructuring and Insolvency, Insurance, Shareholders’ Dispute, Employment, Corporate Governance, and Fraud and Asset recovery. For non-contentious matters, clients look to Peter as a trusted business advisor and strategist in relation to joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring exercises.

Peter serves a diverse clientele across a wide array of industries. His clients include corporations ranging from multi-national to public listed entities, high net worth individuals, as well as international and local law firms who instruct him as counsel.

Peter has also been invited to sit on committees, sub-committees, and advisory boards of various organisations, such as, the Law Society of Singapore, Maritime Law Association of Singapore, Singapore Shipping Association, National University of Singapore Centre for Maritime Law, and the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration.

Peter read Law at the University of Nottingham and holds an LL.M. (Maritime Law) from the National University of Singapore. Peter was admitted to the Middle Temple as a Barrister-at-Law in 1997 and became an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1999.

Peter has been consistently recognised for his capability in litigation and shipping in leading legal publications including The Legal 500, Chambers, Benchmark Litigation, IFLR1000 and Asialaw.
