Practice Areas
Peter practises in public and administrative law, police law, and inquests and inquiries. He is a member of the Attorney General’s C Panel. Peter also practises constitutional law in Privy Council jurisdictions. His clients include government departments, police forces, corporates and individuals.
Peter’s recent work includes successful judicial review proceedings for a police force that sought the dismissal of an officer for using his warrant card to apprehend and impress a female member of the public; advising a government department in a multi-million pound malicious prosecution and misfeasance claim; and successfully defending false imprisonment, misfeasance and assault claims.
Peter represented a corporate core participant in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, and advised a government department in the UK Covid-19 Inquiry. He is regularly instructed in inquests, including Article 2 and jury inquests; and regularly represents police forces in misconduct proceedings against officers.
Peter’s recent human rights work includes an application to the European Court of Human Rights; and constitutional claims in the Caribbean, including which have resulted in the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Trinidad and Tobago and the creation of civil partnership in the Cayman Islands. He is currently counsel in constitutional proceedings in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, where he is called to the Bar. He has appeared before the Privy Council and the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. Peter also regularly advises on international human rights treaties.

His Commonwealth work has focused on representing claimants in matters advocating for same-sex marriage and LGBTQ rights. Domestically, he has acted on behalf of government bodies in claims focused on police abuse and prisoners' rights. Peter is on the Attorney General’s C Panel.
