Peter Willsey is a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and the global chair of the Trademark, Copyright & Advertising Practice Group, based out of the Washington, D.C. office. His practice is split between (1) the selection of company and product names, the development of comprehensive trademark and branding strategies, and formulating strategic approaches for the licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights, and (2) serving as lead counsel in trademark, copyright and false advertising cases in federal courts and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Peter is recognized by Chambers USA in the District of Columbia Intellectual Property: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets category. In the 2022 guide, clients have commented that he is “a rock star” and that he “accomplishes one of the rarest feats in our world: He makes everything easy for us.”
