Practice Areas
Prof. Dr Philippe Gilliéron has been practising in intellectual property for more than 20 years. He is considered an opinion leader for any matter at the intersection between intellectual property and the digital space. Philippe Gilliéron has an extensive practice in advising and representing clients in various industries, including the watch, luxury, tech and FMCG industries. His legal opinions are also regularly sought for as a Professor in legal proceedings.
Prof. Dr Philippe Gilliéron has published over 50 scholarly papers in Swiss and international reviews, including five books devoted to intellectual property. He edited along with Prof. Jacques de Werra the leading Swiss IP commentary, the only one to date covering both patents, copyrights, designs and trademarks (over 2000 pages). He has given more than 100 lectures over the years, including at Ivy League Schools.
Prof. Dr Philippe Gilliéron has been appointed as a Professor at Lausanne Law School since 2006, and at Fribourg Law School since 2008.
