Career
Pierre has represented private companies and state-owned entities in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration proceedings under the ICC, ICSID, DIAC, SCC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and Swiss rules. He is registered with the DIFC Courts with full rights of audience. Pierre is also regularly appointed as arbitrator. Pierre's recent cases include representing a Saudi client in ad hoc arbitration proceedings followed by annulment proceedings in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) in two parallel shareholders disputes; representing a Saudi client in DIFC-LCIA proceedings relating to the construction of a power plant in Saudi Arabia; representing a telecom investor in a DIFC Courts proceeding and in a parallel ICC arbitration relating to an investment in Iraq; acting as arbitrator in two DIFC-LCIA arbitrations; representing a pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration seated in Tokyo; and representing European clients in two parallel ICC and Swiss Rules arbitrations in Geneva in shareholders disputes related to a Saudi company.
Before joining the Dubai Office of Jones Day, Pierre was based in the Paris office of Jones Day and a lecturer on international commercial law at the Paris Institute of Political Sciences (Sciences Po). He is the author of many commentaries published in arbitration law reviews.
